Inside a stunning contemporary home that melds into the Arizona desert

contemporary-desert-home-exterior

This stunning contemporary desert home is a collaboration between Biegner-Murff Architects and Modern Nest, located on a 1.12-acre property in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Inside the home is an organic approach to contemporary desert living. The design team embraced the Southwest style and infused its culture into this modern home that boasts iconic Camelback mountain views.

The entire home was furnished and styled by Modern Nest, and Market by Modern Nest, along with some additional lighting and hardware selections. They added their favorite Roman Clay texture to several walls in the home to create subtle movement and texture. Clean furniture lines juxtaposed vintage textiles, art, and furnishings to soften the contemporary design.

“In a more modern home, we always want to find pieces that round out the space for warmth and livability,” states Lead Designer Misha West. This dwelling offers 6,400 square feet of living space with five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms.

What We Love: The contemporary home in the Arizona desert features a mix of modern designer pieces with vintage finds that builds character and warmth. Living spaces are layered with salvaged furnishings, vintage rugs, antique pottery, and throw pillows made from reclaimed textiles for a beautiful aesthetic. We are especially loving how the artwork pays tribute to the local landscape of an earlier time period, when Arizona was cowboy country.

nice interior color scheme; earth tones with a good use of wood to achieve warmth.

Brilliant modernistic flair unlike the Adobe style that is familiar
to most in this part of the country The desert tones (muted)
colors both inside and out blends perfectly with the surrounding
landscape However I do believe a spot of vibrant color maybe
in the style of Georgia O’Keefe could perhaps break the mono-
chromatic tones
