Purple Cherry Architects is responsible for the design of this timeless Tudor-style home located in Franklin Park, a woodsy neighborhood in Mclean, Virginia. The dwelling seamlessly blends the romanticism of a Tudor home with clean transitional lines, characterized by painted brick, steeply pitched roof lines, and swept projected bays with copper metal roofs.
Stepping inside this home you are greeted by a glass front door that frames views of a beautifully paneled foyer with a dramatic deep arched opening, an architectural element that is repeated throughout the home. Continue below to see the rest of this remarkable home…

Highlights of this home include a La Cantina foldaway door leading to the screened porch, a spa-like owner’s bathroom with a mosaic tile barrel ceiling, and an art room with stained wood ceilings that is accessed via a hidden bookcase.
Crafted with the finest materials, and meticulous attention to detail, the exterior features cedar shake roofing, copper gutters, downspouts, and gorgeous natural stonework.
The homeowners both love spending time at home and traveling the world. They desired a home that felt fresh, timeless, and one that could be built upon over time.
To bring the owner’s vision to life, the project team applied an edited color palette, layered millwork, and an abundance of open shelving — enabling them to incorporate memories of their travels throughout the years to come.
What We Love: This Tudor-style home has a timeless appeal courtesy of its exquisite material selections, neutral color palette, and beautiful craftsmanship — both indoors and out. Gorgeous architectural details can be found throughout, including arches, a hand-carved marble fireplace, coffered ceilings, herringbone floors, extensive millwork, and imaginative nooks and niches.
