An absolutely stunning makeover of a black modern farmhouse in Indiana

This spectacular black modern farmhouse was renovated by Linc Thelen Design, nestled on a sprawling 80-acre property in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. The owners are a couple from Chicago who purchased this home as a respite from city living. They desired a place where they could connect with nature.

The dwelling is tucked into its idyllic woodsy site that includes a pond, pool, and a detached recreation room. Encompassing 3,200 square feet of living space, this home includes four bedrooms and one bunk room along with five full baths. Continue below to see the rest of this fabulous home…

The home was stripped down to the studs, a complete gut renovation. The architect modified the exterior and created a modern look by removing the balconies on the exterior, removing the roof overhang, adding vertical siding, and painting the structure black.

What We Love: This black modern farmhouse provides a wonderful respite from city life with its comfortable furnishings and relaxed vibe. Large windows help this home to connect with nature, blurring the indoor-outdoor boundaries. We are especially loving the great room with its soaring ceilings, striking fireplace, and overall feeling of warmth. The sprawling property provides an abundance of privacy and is perfect for those wishing to get away from it all.

Lovely….could use some color in the rooms. That stack of wood by the fireplace causes me to wonder WHO on EARTH could pull wood out of that to fuel the fire???!!!
