Nor-Son custom builders created this lodge-style lake house designed to entertain friends and family to reconnect, relax, and celebrate life’s moments, located on Tame Fish Lake, in Aitkin, Minnesota. The design of this vacation retreat was inspired by the homeowner’s annual Northwoods vacation and their coastal roots. This home reflects the perfect combination of classic cabin style coziness and modern coastal living.
The homeowner’s vision was to create a rustic exterior facade that would meld with the home’s surrounding Northwoods environment. The interior was to be bright and airy, just like the homes situated along the coastal regions. In order to create this aesthetic, the builders mixed field stone with a richly-stained cedar shake siding for the exterior. While on the interior, you will find whitewashed woods, gray-toned stone, and white enameled trim.
Reclaimed timber beams and a full masonry fireplace infuse warmth into the interiors, while mosaic stone and glass inlays add detail. Overall, this home is the ultimate vacation getaway, boasting five bedrooms, six washers and dryers, and a fully-furnished game room!
What We Love: This lakeside gathering is chalk full of rustic charm mixed with coastal elegance to create the perfect getaway. The home is nestled on a tranquil waterfront setting with a woodsy backdrop, an idyllic location for one to relax and unwind. Natural materials of stone and wood were used on both the exterior and interior of this home, creating an overall inviting aesthetic.
Readers, please share what your thoughts are on the overall aesthetics of this lake house… would this be your idea of the perfect vacation getaway?
