A Mediterranean style home with modern details was designed by Cornerstone Architects in collaboration with Glynis Wood Interiors, located in Westlake, an upscale suburb of Fort Worth, Texas. Constructed for a family of five, from the outdoors to the indoors, this home perfectly caters to their lifestyle needs. The outdoor space is expansive, the new homeowners wanted it to feel more like a park for the children to enjoy.
The property is surrounded by mature growth trees. There is also a volleyball net, fire pit, outdoor seating and meandering pathways for all to enjoy. Abutting up to the house is a terrace, swimming pool and outdoor grill. The builder for this striking residence was Prescott Homes.
The interior living spaces feels like a sanctuary. An open layout with a living, dining and kitchen area feels like one large room. When you are in this space, you can see from one end to the other. For the bedrooms, the architects had the daughter’s room separated away from the brother’s room for added privacy. They wanted this home to be a place the children could enjoy with their friends.
Durable materials were utilized, such as concrete flooring in the kitchen. Since this area is connected to the pool area, no one needs to worry about drying off their feet! A first floor media room gets plenty of use with a wide variety of entertainment. This includes foosball, video games and movies. This space is conveniently accessible to the kitchen and offers plush carpeting underfoot.
What We Love: The design of this stunning Mediterranean style home is centered on family friendly living and expansive outdoor play areas. We love how the design team managed to create such a beautiful atmosphere while still catering to a playful environment for children. From the Mediterranean style exterior facade to the chic and modern interiors, every detail feels polished.

Throughout the interiors you will find pops of color, such as the orange patterned curtains in the media room and the bright pink in the daughter’s bedroom. The interior designer infused whimsical elements all over the interiors. This is reflected in the mudroom with its fish wallcovering and in the children’s living room with its large chalkboard wall.
