Last week we featured fall decorating ideas for your fireplace here, now that October is upon us, we have put together an amazing collection of Halloween mantel decor ideas. Since the fireplace is typically the focal spot of any room, it is a fantastic area to make use of its full potential and give it a little sprucing. Why not get creative and hit up your local arts and crafts stores and get to work on creating your own unique mantel decor. There are numerous ideas out there to help you get started, that is why we put together this collection of popular mantels. One of these should inspire you to DIY your own space, or you can mix a couple of ideas together to create your own personal twist. There are plenty of decorations that you can select from, anywhere from bats, crows, garland, wreaths, cobwebs, skulls, candlesticks, pumpkins, spooky spiders, a witches hat… and don’t forget the bats! Above: The fireplace mantel features classic marquee battery-0perated lights that spell “BOO”. You can arrange these chic lights anywhere you like, but they will add a unique look to your mantel. Include an array of faux pumpkins, a wreath and a picture frame and you have a spooktacular scene. Additional ideas for these adorable letters: display them in your window, on a console table or an entry table. The best part? No cords! These letter lights can be found at Grandinroad.

Above: This bewitching Halloween mantel scarf was found in the Grandinroad catalog, however, you can copy the look if you are crafty. Have a look at the blogger Staying Close to Home, copied the look for a lot less… without needing to sew anything!

Above: Dress up your mantel with some festive Halloween flair with a fabric tie garland. The garland is a brilliant display of frightful hues: black, orange and polka dots. They look perfect for decorating for a party or as part of your mantel decor. You can buy this garland from here.

Above: This blogger was inspired by vintage Halloween decor books from the 1920s. There were a lot of creative projects in these books that inspired her to decorate her home with crepe paper. Here you will find black crepe paper turned into a large and stylish blow (2 packages were used to create this ideas). Additional items helps to set this spooky scene, such as candles, black crows, pumpkins, an empty picture frame accented with leaves (can be real or faux). You could DIY copy this look for very inexpensive!

Above: This mantel features a chic scene of purple glitter accents mixed with hues of black and gray. This scene is a classic with a skeleton, cobwebs, skeletons, pumpkins, an owl and even a spooky tree.

Above: The Fancy Shack blogger has shown us how you can turn an ordinary mantel into a spooky mantel with just a few simple items. She has dubbed her fireplace mantel as”Halloween Chic, Spooky Glam mantle”. The mantel is a layers of black gauze, urns, old books, mercury candlesticks, votive holders, faux orange flowers and spider webs.

Above: We are loving on this one, its so chic and stylish. This blogger/styling guru used a palette of black, silver, gray and natural linens to pull off her festive Halloween mantel. The lanterns were already decorating the space, filled with dried moss, which was dotted along the mantel as well. Mercury glass pumpkins are a staple, and have staying power into Thanksgiving. Dried moss branches were also added to give a spooky aesthetic. Lastly, a few popular items were included, such as crows, chains, spiders and skulls.

Above: This blogger shows up how to design a Halloween themed mantel on a budget, with using plenty of found objects around the home. One such item was the picture frames, which were then enhanced with Halloween clip art printed off the internet. Mercury candle holders accented by faux black pumpkins. If you can’t find black pumpkins, you can always spray paint them! Plastic spiders decorate the wall, while a Halloween hat is set atop one of the mercury candle holders. Craft paper stamped books are another item on the mantel, get the tutorial here. A burlap banner has lettering added to them to complete the look.

Above: Arts and crafts supplier Jo-Ann created this spooky mantel starting with their Halloween Mantel Scarf-Spider. They then added black pillar candles, BOO lettering, an old window pane decorated with cobwebs, a birdcage with a crow, skulls, tombstones and faux pumpkins.
