Custom home builderย Heritage Homes of Jacksonville along withย Villa Decor & Design worked together to create this stunning shingle-style gambrel beach house, located in the seaside community ofย Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Johns County, Florida. This lovely home was built as a summer retreat for a family of six that were originally from Ireland, wanting a dream house built in the sunshine state. With a great design team working with them, the bright and airy home features spacious interiors of 5,042 square feet of living space. Rooms flow from one space to the next, with windows designed to maximize the views of the ocean at the rear of the property. At the back of the home, a covered deck protects the homeowners from the elements, while an expansive swimming pool and spa offer the children a wonderful place to play and swim, while lounge areas gives the parents a nice place to relax and watch their children… and entertain guests. A wooden bridge leads the homeowners over the grassy coastal dunes and onto the white sandy beach to enjoy pristine turquoise waters and beach play.
There are a total of six bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms in this gambrel beach house, whose design inspiration came from a fond memory the homeowners had of a vacation spent in the Cape 27 years ago. The exterior facade is clad with a cedar shake that has been painted in a beautiful gray hue, while white trim and light blue shutters provides a nice contrast. Aย blue front door in our favorite paint selection, Benjamin Moore (click here for the color), welcomes visitors into this sunny two-story beachside abode.
