Waters Edge Home is a lakeside property that inserts a burst of burnished modernity into a leafy area of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, by Christopher Simmonds Architect. For three years the clients looked for the right Lake Ontario waterfront property to build a spectacular new home, and they waiting another three years while it was meticulously designed and constructed. When finished, the facade, with its artfully mixed lines, sharply sloped roof and irregularly shaped windows added a burst of modernity to the neighborhood south of Port Credit, where tree-lined traditional brick homes and bungalows are the norm. Upon entrance into the home is a world of soft curves that undulate throughout the interior and continue to the outside surrounding landscape. The curves subtly link spaces and invite movement.
Dynamic, crystalline exterior forms and sumptuously flowing curvaceous interiors have been melded into one glowing gem of a residence.
The flowing spatial experience of the interior extends to the landscape through the entry courtyard, rear patios and negative edge pool.
Dining, sitting and family room spaces flow around the central forms of the kitchen, pantry and storage functions – becoming progressively more cozy and nest-like as they reach the family room space
The master bedroom suite, located at the main level, allows a direct walk-out to the hot tub and pool. Other bedrooms and a home office capture dramatic views of the lake.
