Above: This screened-in porch, designed by Appalachian Antique Hardwoods, is surrounded on all sides by breathtaking views and features a fireplace design that required thoughtful planning to avoid disrupting sight lines. Keeping it low to the ground and venting it through a metal pipe instead of a massive chimney did the trick. Additionally, screens composed of special transparent material virtually disappear against the wooded North Carolina terrain.
