Designed by MA Studios and built by PG Arnold Construction, this extraordinary mountain contemporary home in Winter Park, Colorado, is a study in the art of custom design. Set against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountain landscape, its prominent curved roof, extensive stone veneer, and large structural steel elements make an immediate architectural statement, while the 8,500-square-foot interior delivers on every promise the exterior makes.
At the heart of the great room, the Loewen Timber Curtain Wall window system serves as a dramatic focal point, flooding the space with natural light and framing sweeping views of the Continental Divide. Triple-pane windows and a White Oak entry door complete the building envelope, each detail chosen to connect the interior to the surrounding landscape while standing up to Colorado’s demanding mountain climate.

The Loewen Custom Shop worked closely with the project team to deliver tailored glazing, custom species, and exterior casings that feel entirely in keeping with the home’s broader design vision.

The organic, earthy material palette, from the entryway stone to the vertical fireplace surround, creates a sense of calm and quiet sophistication that feels entirely at home in the mountains. Interior finishes were also handled by MA Studios, giving the project a rare cohesion from the outside in, while custom details by Work Shop Colorado elevate the home further still, from the bunkroom and bar to the standout ski-lift cable stairway that is equal parts playful and precise.
