Charlie & Co. Design, along with John Kraemer & Sons, have designed this gorgeous contemporary home nestled hillside in Locust Hills, a private estate overlooking Lake Minnetonka in Wayzata, Minnesota. Surrounded by woods and walking trails, the residence overlooks wetlands, a lagoon, and Lake Minnetonka.
The design of this three-story home blends historic architectural references with a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic. The dwelling consists of three individual pavilions, which are intermingled by interior and exterior bridges.
On the interiors, an open plan living room, dining room, and kitchen flow harmoniously from one space to the next, illuminated by natural light through expansive windows. The beautiful flooring consists of rift and quarter-sawn white oak, which travels through most of the main living spaces.
French doors in the living room open out onto a spacious terrace with views out to the lake. A spiral staircase provides easy access to the ground floor level and out onto the backyard.

Above: In the dining area, the expansive wine cooler was custom designed for the home and is climate controlled.
Above: In the kitchen, the custom cabinetry consists of the same material as the flooring, rift and quarter sawn white oak, which has an oil finish. The outside perimeter countertops and the upper part of the island are comprised of Carrara Marble, while the lower part of the island is a sand washed granite called “Sequoia Brown.”
