This English Tudor-inspired home gets updated with inviting modern details

modern english tudor style home exterior

Peter Block Architects, in collaboration with Anna Booth Interiors, has beautifully reimagined this English Tudor-inspired home, situated in a historic Atlanta neighborhood in Georgia. This home is classically rooted yet supports the contemporary lives of the family that lives there. It was essential for the family not only to update their home to blend in with its surroundings but also to enhance it.

The exterior facade features a half-timbered, steeply pitched roof and is modernized with a wash of white paint. Even the landscaping was updated, featuring beautifully manicured grounds that included English climbing roses and neatly trimmed boxwood hedges. Unlike your traditional Tudor-style home, the interiors are filled with natural light. Instead of a formal foyer, guests enter through an arched front door into an open, airy living room. For the exterior facade of this home, the front door is composed of rift-sawn white oak, paired with double-hung and casement windows, both of which were sourced from Premium Windows & Doors, Inc. Clipped green gem boxwoods reinforce the home’s traditional English garden aesthetic.

What We Love: This English Tudor-inspired home was beautifully renovated to offer the inhabitants a more contemporary interior to meet their lifestyle needs. Living spaces were opened up to provide light-filled interiors that are warm and welcoming. Stylish details can be found throughout this home, from the gorgeous furnishings to the exquisite light fixtures, hand-selected antiques, and the show-stopping iron hood in the kitchen, which is one of our favorite design features.
