Dream House Tour: A classic gambrel roofed shingle style home in Greenwich

traditional style exterior Front Entrance

This Gambrel-shingle-style home, designed by Mackin Architects, is situated in a neighborhood of existing homes and presents a modest presence to the street in Greenwich, Connecticut. It evokes the feel of a shingle-style cottage, with stone piers and a front porch typical of turn-of-the-century neighborhoods.

Wrapped in cedar shingles that curve gently around arches and complemented by dark-green trim, the home is anchored to the landscape. Since the property is longer than it is wide, the architecture needed to match. Continue below to see the inside of this stunning house…

The Kitchen, Family Room, and rear Screened Porch with a fireplace are set back from the street, extend deep into the lot, and are surrounded by stunning gardens and walkways. The Dining Room has French doors that open out onto a covered porch and a trellised alfresco dining area.
