The home is gracious enough for a crowd, yet comfortable for a couple. Living spaces are intimate with a strong connection to the exterior. The use of substantial, natural finishes was inspired by the owner’s (who have Belgian roots and adventurous spirits) love of European ski lodges and authentic alpine architecture.

The home blends a cozy cabin vibe with fresh, modern touches. Clean walls and millwork let solid oak doors steal the show, while rustic tongue-and-groove ceilings provide the place a lived-in charm.

What We Love About This Home
This alpine cabin near Mt. Rainier strikes a perfect balance between rugged mountain character and warm, livable comfort. The design vision of authentic alpine architecture comes through in every detail, from the dramatic vaulted living room with its floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace to the covered patio that extends the living space year-round. A new traditional sensibility runs throughout, feeling collected and personal rather than decorator-perfect, right down to the dog-friendly fabrics on the living room sofa. Overall, we love every detail in this peaceful forest home.
