Set on 150 acres just outside of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Duet Design Group was commissioned to transform this 30-year-old, expansive log cabin and infuse it with personality, functionality, and warmth- all without moving a single wall. The approach focused on working within the original framework, bringing warmth, function, and character through material, pattern, and careful detailing.
Modern fixtures layer against classic textiles and handsome patterns, creating a refined, one-of-a-kind riff on Colorado mountain style. The result is a 7,000-square-foot residence that feels both familiar and refreshed, with a stronger connection to the way the owners live and gather throughout this Steamboat property. Foyer with rustic chinked walls
Above: The color palette of this log cabin retreat is a sophisticated take on a primary palette. Beginning with the foyer, hues of teal and sienna are carried through to the rest of the home. The chest is custom upholstered in Cowtan & Tout fabric.

Above: The great room features rustic wood beams mixed with contemporary furnishings. This includes a pair of iron-and-maple console tables, custom-fabricated by Charleston Forge. The table lamps are from Arteriors Home. The chandelier suspended over the room is by Roll & Hill.

What We Love About This Home
We love how this log cabin appears to be a century old yet has all the modern amenities and comforts of a family vacation home. The reclaimed timbers and beams not only serve as structural supports but also give the home its rustic feel, while contemporary furnishings bring the home up to modern day standards. Overall, this home exudes warmth and coziness with a hint of luxury and elegance.
