Balzer & Tuck Architecture has reimagined this 18th-century farmhouse for modern family living, set amid rolling pastures in Saratoga Springs, Upstate New York. Boasting magnificent views of the Adirondack Mountains, this award-winning home blends historic character with modern luxury. Originally built in the late 1700s, this Vermont home was meticulously relocated and restored.

The original pole barn was disassembled to make way for a spacious addition, perfect for a couple’s retirement and family visits. The main structure was thoughtfully renovated and expanded to preserve its heritage while adapting to today’s active family lifestyle. Combining historic charm with modern comfort, the home features original beams, airy rooms, and a welcoming great room with a hearth.

What We Love About This Home

What we love most is how seamlessly this home honors its history, from the original beams and brick to the speakeasy bar and a golf simulator, in a way that feels completely natural. The equestrian influences running through the interior design scheme give the whole home a cohesive personality that goes well beyond decoration. Overall, it’s wonderful to see this historic home so lovingly restored and beautifully brought to life.
