This fabulous beach house with cedar shingle siding underwent a complete overhaul by cityhomeCOLLECTIVE located in Santa Monica, Southern California. This home was a full, down to the studs, renovation right on the beach. As a bachelor, the homeowner desired a masculine, clean, and comfortable beach house vibe without the feeling of being a bachelor pad.
The cedar siding was the inspiration for this project. Black trim and copper accents were added to allow the structure of the cottage to pop. The project team brought in soft neutral with layers and textures such as wood and leather to add a feeling of coziness throughout the interior. Pops of color were integrated into the guest bedrooms, giving them their own identity for visiting friends and family.

Plenty of beautiful stone was integrated throughout – green marble vanities and pops of travertine in the shower, floors, and fireplace. The beach house vibe was accentuated with white walls and light wood flooring. Thoughtfully selected furnishings are constructed of warm wood, leather, and soft neutrals.
What We Love: This Santa Monica beach house has been completely refreshed to offer its inhabitants light and airy living spaces adorned with soft, neutral shades and lots of texture. We especially love the living room with its expansive walls of glazing and beautiful French doors that open out onto a beachfront back patio. Overall, this home provides an inviting atmosphere, perfect for everyday living and entertaining.
