Murphy & Co Design together with Martha Dayton Design designed this 4,500 square foot Scandinavian midcentury-modern inspired home, nestled along Lake Minnewashta, Minnesota. The scope of this project was to create a casually elegant lake house with a simple palette of raw materials and richly textured furnishings.
With a material palette of stone, concrete, steel, and wood, the designer worked to create an inviting home using an abundance of texture and movement. Typically when entertaining, family and friends congregate in the kitchen. In this home, they all want to hang out in the living room, with its floor-to-ceiling wall of stone and captivating views over the lake. Continue below to see the rest of this stunning home…

The stone bisects the front of the dwelling and delineates the main and guest bedroom wings.
