Ryan Street Architects has designed this French Provincial dream house for a family of six, located in University Park, a city in Dallas County, Texas. The primary focus was to construct a home that is refined yet comfortable while meeting the lifestyle needs of its inhabitants.
The exterior facade features stucco-clad walls, a flat-tile roof, exposed rafter tails, and a central tower topped with a bay window. These traditional elements extend into the interior, where the substantial walls evoke a sense of timeless masonry, complemented by splayed arches and ceiling beams.

Above: The front exterior harmoniously blends elements of both traditional and modern design. This fusion is exemplified by a delightful bay window, gracefully supported by decorative corbels, which contrasts with the contemporary allure of the sleek metal-and-glass front door crafted by Santiago Iron Works. Additionally, the wall lanterns used are sourced from the Santa Barbara Lighting Company.
What We Love: This French Provincial dream house provides contemporary living spaces that are loaded with inviting warmth. Designed for family living, both indoor and outdoor spaces provide plenty of opportunity for gathering while also having intimate spaces for relaxation. Overall, the project team did a fabulous job of bringing the outdoor in with an abundance of large windows and natural elements.
