This idyllic home was designed by Wade Design Architects, located in the largest rural region of Marin County, Northern California. Set among West Marin’s wild landscape, this dwelling interacts with nature at every turn. The project team took inspiration from San Geronimo’s untamed landscape, the property’s western sun exposure, and cooling marine breezes.
A boomerang-shaped, low-lying compound was designed where light would permeate rooms from every angle, and the house itself would lead guests outside through a series of breezeways and sliding doors. This residence is truly a home inspired by and connected to nature.

Natural light, rhythms of the wind, and elements of the changing seasons were all woven into a seamless and unique design that has become our home, and a truly remarkable indoor/outdoor living experience. —Homeowner and Interior Designer Lisa McHugh
What We Love: This Northern California home provides its occupants with airy and spacious living spaces boasting tranquil views. With the pool and expansive views in one direction and a sheltered courtyard garden in the opposite direction, indoor-outdoor living is comfortably possible regardless of the prevailing breeze or sun’s position. Overall, we are loving how this home is in perfect harmony with its landscape, celebrating the views at every turn.
