Charlie & Co. Design worked in collaboration with Hendel Homes constructed a dutch colonial addition onto a Mediterranean home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A complimentary entry tower was added to this residence, which was designed for the client several years ago.
This new tower element highlights existing ornamental detailing on the home. A floor-to-ceiling glass door extension, with a roof-top deck, bridges the new and existing towers to create a unified river corridor elevation. See this gorgeous home before the addition: Modern Mediterranean home on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River.

Initially, this home’s front entry was orientated on the side street. However, the homeowners wished to use more of their front yard while enhancing their street presence along the riverfront and increasing privacy for their family.
What We Love: This stunning renovation project enhances the exterior architecture of this Mediterranean home with the dutch colonial addition. The abundance of natural light courtesy of floor-to-ceiling windows creates a clean and bright atmosphere for daily living. We are especially loving the arches and attention to detail throughout this gorgeous home… and the cozy treehouse room!

The original living room’s sliding glass doors were pushed out by ten feet, enabling the project team to connect the two towers and create a balcony from the owner’s suite to the sun deck.
