This modern farmhouse style home was custom designed by Geschke Group Architecture and built by Arbogast Custom Homes, located in Austin, Texas. This fantastic dwelling features the best of rustic, a touch of industrial and the sleek elegance of modern; perfectly blended together to deliver a home that is sophisticated without feeling pretentious or unapproachable. The overall design was the vision of both architects and homeowners, a dream home that encompasses 3,917 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. There is also a bonus space over the garage! The interior designer on this project is Jennifer Garner Interiors.

Responding to a gently sloping site filled with trees, this site specific home captures the simple and timeless spirit of a farmhouse, yet is reworked to reflect a more modern style. The house offers open and livable spaces, yet transitions to private and cozy rooms that offers both efficiency and elegance.

Above: The fireplace is vermeer sawn white limestone in 6″, 8″, and 10″ height pieces. The stone mason sourced them from a local quarry, laid in alternating horizontal courses. The ceiling is a tongue and groove pine with a semi-solid stain. The stain is Benjamin Moore Arborcoat, Semi-solid, Chelsea Gray. This sort of stain has enough pigment that it hides much of the grain of the wood while still maintaining some of the character. Area rug is from Black Sheep Unique, in Austin Texas.
Above: The fireplace mantel is a 1/2″ piece of cold rolled steel that was attached to the framing and then the stone was added around it.

Above: The interior of this modern farmhouse style home boasts countless luxurious amenities. This includes, a beautiful waterfall edge kitchen island and an extensive use of custom steel elements. The home also features an enchanting, fully functional one-bedroom apartment with its own private entrance, kitchen, laundry, and full bath.
