This amazing vacationย retreat was designed by Titus Bernhard Architekten, nestled on a cliffside someย 300 meters above the western shores of Lake Garda,ย Italy. The German architects created this home with a park-like outdoor atmosphere, enjoying an infinity edge pool and breathtaking lake views. The original property is an old rustic Guest quarters and “limonaia” (a lemon house, which is used for the custodians of lemon trees).
The structures were rehabilitated with traditional building materials of dry, stacked stone walls. This helps to retain the original character of the home while melding into the surrounding landscape. Backed up into the hillside, this two story home is surrounded by native vegetation. The finished result is a family home infused with warmth, sophistication and a rustic atmosphere.
A sparkling infinity edge pool follows the contours of the landscape. An expansiveย grassy covered flagstone patio offers several comfortable seating arrangements, providing spaces to enjoy the fresh ocean breezes and remarkable sea views.
What We Love: This stunning retreat hovering over Lake Garda offers its inhabitants a piece of history and a beautiful location. The home seems to be set right back into the hillside, making it feel inviting and warm. The outdoor spaces are relaxing and tranquil, a slice of paradise with some pretty incredible views. The interiors are rustic yet welcomingย with the stacked stone walls and an open and airy layout.
