Chautauqua Residence is a fascinating modern home designed for a bachelor who frequently gets visits from extended family by Studio William Hefner, located in Los Angeles, California. Overlooking an expanse of the Will Rogers State Park in the Pacific Palisades, the home showcases private and social spaces that can be either an oasis of relaxation or the perfect space for entertaining friends and family.
Description from the architects: The canyon and the views from the site absolutely determined the floor plan, the layout of rooms and their exact orientation on the site. From the entryway, the house leads right into the great room and out to an infinity pool to the edge of the site. The house wraps around the yard and pool on a double lot, with “secondary bedrooms” along the street side.
Interior spaces draw in light via large expanses floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, blurring the lines between indoors and out. Neutral hues and textures combined results in a visually appealing, warm and comfortable living environment.
