Walton Architecture + Engineering, together with Jim Morrison Construction, has designed this striking mountain farmhouse dwelling located on a 2.04-acre property in the Martis Camp community of Truckee, California. Every room in this sumptuous 6,312 square foot, five-bedroom and five-and-a-half bath dwelling boasts a spectacular view from every room.
Perched on a hilltop, this home includes expansive decks that feature sweeping views of the Carson Range. There is also a separate guest house that is connected via a breezeway. The architects created a sense of arrival when approaching this home, with a circular driveway framed by aspens, pines, and flowers. Stepping inside this inviting home, you are greeted by the great room, which features walls of glass that bring in natural light while capturing views.
What We Love: This mountain farmhouse-style home offers an inviting and spacious floor plan that is perfect for entertaining family and friends. We love how you walk into the great room and are immediately greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the breathtaking views while allowing light to flood the interior. This wonderful indoor-outdoor connection can be enjoyed through the summer months, bringing in fresh mountain air. Overall, we love every detail of this thoughtfully designed getaway in the mountains.

The kitchen boasts ample storage, a large pantry, a Le Cornue stove handmade in Italy, and a trio of prominent 350-pound drum lights that are suspended above the expansive island. On the other wing, you will find a bedroom with amazing views of the Carson Range and another bedroom with corner windows facing Lookout Mountain, Mt. Rose, and the 13th green and 14th tee box below.
On the lower level, you will find a media room with a large TV, dining area/board game table, sofas, a full bathroom, patio, and – just down the hall – a bunkroom with six queen-sized bunks.
The property also features an adjacent guest cottage that is situated off the circular drive. This space boasts a bedroom with a Murphy bed, a refrigerator, a full bathroom, and a south-facing deck with breathtaking views of Lookout Mountain.
