Rita Chan Interiors completely transformed this Cape Cod style into a dream house for a family of five, nestled on a sprawling property and tucked behind a massive sycamore tree in Manhattan Beach, California. The home features a brand-new swimming pool, fire pit, entertainment deck, outdoor kitchen, and a golf putting green.
The bones of this house were still great, however, the designer opted to make a few tweaks for an improved flow for this active family. This reimagined dwelling features a light rustic, traditional aesthetic, characterized by clean lines and accented with occasional modern touches. The designer wanted to bring the outdoors inside, inspired by the natural surroundings and mature-growth trees. Continue below to see the rest of this home’s beautiful refresh…

What We Love: The designers did a fabulous job of completely transforming a family home into light and airy living spaces with clean lines and rustic touches throughout. We love the mix of reclaimed materials, vintage finds, family heirlooms, and designer pieces to create personality and character. Overall, this home was beautifully updated to bring the outdoors inside and offer a comfortable and very livable atmosphere for family living.

Inspired by the home’s natural surroundings and mature growth trees, the design team used wall paneling in the dining room to create a fresh, wine-country feel. As wine enthusiasts, the homeowners were excited about incorporating a ranch-style aesthetic into their abode. Ultimately, the vision became fresh and bright, yet organic and warm, coastal vineyard ranch style brought to life.
