This transitional-style house was beautifully designed by Box Studios together with Amy Storm & Company, located in Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The exterior facade presents a gorgeous combination of materials and custom details. A unique metal screen provides privacy to an entry courtyard while also creating visual interest.

Stepping inside this home you will find sophisticated, understated elegance and amazing design details throughout. There is an abundance of windows to provide plenty of natural light, including a large skylight right in the middle of the kitchen… a major plus for not ever having to turn on any artificial lights during the day. Above: The exterior metal screen was a collaboration between the interior designer and G & M Ornamental Iron Work. It’s unique, beautiful and helps create a cool courtyard that is viewed from the interior of the home while also creating privacy, but still allowing in an abundance of natural light.

Above: We are loving the lighter stone, a bit unexpected with a darker home, it’s a nice mix! The exterior siding paint color is Black Jack 2133-20 | Benjamin Moore.

Above: Stepping inside this Illinois house is a beautiful chevron pivot door. In a house that has floor to ceiling windows everywhere, you’d probably expect a glass door, but there is a really nice element of privacy that comes from the solid door, while not missing out on any natural light.

Above: In this sophisticated and fresh formal dining room, the gorgeous light fixture is from Gallotti&Radice. The handcrafted custom dining table is by Aronson Woodworks. Grounding this space, the area rug was sourced from home goods retailer Scout & Nimble. The walls are hand painted!

Above: This highly organized pantry space features a full fridge on the left for Costco overflow. On the right, full height cabinets with power and shelving for a step ladder, vacuum, and other essentials. The back cabinet is for additional storage, while the drawers are filled with food.

Above: This Great Room was so spacious that it was separated into two seating spaces. One space is centered around the fireplace and TV, while the other is more loungy and grouped to face the kitchen. The loungy space facing the kitchen gets plenty of use. Whether entertaining or prepping meals, kids and friends alike love to hang out here. The sofa is from Ambella Home Collection, while the ottoman is from Gabby Furniture. Grounding the space is an area rug by Davis & Davis Rugs.
