Gorgeous ranch-style home inspired by the legendary west Texas sky

ranch-style-home-exterior

This gorgeous ranch-style home was designed by Ryan Street & Associates, located on a hilltop property in Rollingwood, a city in Travis County, Texas. Taking four years to complete, this U-shaped family home is spread out over one level and centered around a spacious courtyard. This low-profile dwelling was created to be casual and functional, with a fabulous indoor-outdoor connection.

The goal for the project team was to give the overall feeling of a remodel of an old ranch house. To do this, the main hallway was intentionally designed to lend the impression that it may have originally been this home’s front porch. Opting for a thin footprint helped to maximize views on all sides to capture the beauty of the natural surroundings and flood the interiors with light.

The material selections are modest and practical. Exterior materials blend into the interior spaces, including warm white plaster, custom white oak paneling, and rough-hewn reclaimed wood beams on the ceiling — creating texture and depth.

I walk past this house with my pups and the landscaping is so beautiful. Not overly done just such a compliment to the natural landscape of Austin. Bravo

Rollingwood is in the Hill Country. Not west Texas. This is a true west Texas Sunset.

I live in Texas. skylights and these windows will make this house unlivable inthe summer without a significant A/C commitment. The pool being dark blue will insure it is a hot tub May through October. This home has huge potential but as currently configured and outfitted it will be a nightmare. Landscaping is A plus. Interior decorating is Onekinddesign predictable: uncomfortably modern and trying too hard.
