This gorgeous ranch-style home was designed by Ryan Street & Associates, located on a hilltop property in Rollingwood, a city in Travis County, Texas. Taking four years to complete, this U-shaped family home is spread out over one level and centered around a spacious courtyard. This low-profile dwelling was created to be casual and functional, with a fabulous indoor-outdoor connection.
The goal for the project team was to give the overall feeling of a remodel of an old ranch house. To do this, the main hallway was intentionally designed to lend the impression that it may have originally been this home’s front porch. Opting for a thin footprint helped to maximize views on all sides to capture the beauty of the natural surroundings and flood the interiors with light.

The material selections are modest and practical. Exterior materials blend into the interior spaces, including warm white plaster, custom white oak paneling, and rough-hewn reclaimed wood beams on the ceiling — creating texture and depth.

The Davenport velvet sofa is by Roman and Williams Guild, while the mortise coffee table is by Sawkille. Vintage leather sofas by de Sede can be found at places such as 1stDibs. Bringing drama into this space, the walls are painted in Black Fox SW 7020 – Sherwin-Williams.
