Gorgeous Mediterranean-inspired home in Arizona with mountain backdrop

mediterranean-exterior

This delightful single-family Mediterranean-inspired home was designed by OZ Architects, located on a private property in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The design of this home was inspired by design themes and cues taken from a number of different warm client regions surrounding the Mediterranean. Camelback Mountain serves as a rugged backdrop to this home, whose name is derived from its shape, the hump and head of a kneeling camel.

This rustic-inspired home features plenty of charm and character, combining old and recovered elements. Reclaimed materials such as a 400-year-old staircase and 300-year-old doors were incorporated into the design. A stone clad exterior facade respects the environment and adds to the natural beauty of the site. Indoor and outdoor spaces are interconnected — a fireplace in the gallery, a patio with a fountain, armchairs that follow a stone wall, a pool with a solarium, all with the frame of the mountains.

I think the house itself is beautiful, but the majority of the interior design elements…light fixtures,.window treatments, rugs, furniture, are unexpectedly mundane and commercial. These elements do not match the unique and rustic quality of the actual home structure. Love the fountain
