Wright Design was responsible for interiors of this eclectic European lake house located at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls South, a golf and lake community in Salem, South Carolina. This design of this stunning property is heavily influenced by English Cotswold and French country architecture. The exterior facade is a mix of stone and wood complimented by a cedar shingle roof that seems to blend in beautifully with its surroundings.

On the interiors of this Mediterranean style abode, you will find incredible details such as plaster walls, wide-plank oak flooring and custom iron windows in the kitchen, dining and living areas. In the bright and airy living room, an exquisite custom limestone fireplace lends old world charm. An open layout and expansive windows enables views from just about every room in the home, creating a connection to the gardens and copious outdoor living spaces.

This is indeed one of my dream homes shown by Onekindesign. There isn’t enough space to list all of the things that I adore! The stonework, interior and exterior arches, furnishings, open beams, and use of dark wood are just a few. I also fell in love with the chest that’s sitting below the windows overlooking the living/great room. One of a kind I’m sure. Thank you for submitting this incredible property!

Thank you for these lovely posts. I was especially interested in this house because we have a stone house of similar design. I have debated whitewashing the beams and painting the windows and doors. The pictures of this house reminded me of how much I love the combination of dark stained beams and doors with the stone. I have a question completely off topic: the first time I open this there was a photo of an adorable dog next to a bench. When I came back to view the rest of the pictures, more had been added and the dog… Read more »
