This modern shingle-style home was designed by architects Schulz Peabody Design Group along with Dan Scotti Design, located in East Hampton, New York. Encompassing 8,000 square feet of living space, this all-season retreat showcases contemporary luxury while staying true to the vernacular architecture of the neighborhood. The interiors scheme of this residence is characterized by elegant details blended with a casual vibe.
The interior designer selected a palette aged cedar shingles, bluestone terraces, weathered teak furnishings and custom paint finishes.
Above: The open plan kitchen is characterized by a soaring tongue and groove wood clad ceiling and distressed reclaimed oak flooring. All white custom cabinetry is complimented by honed bianco Carrara countertop, creating a bright and airy aesthetic. The center island features custom patinated steel counter stools with a turned walnut seat designed by Wyeth. Milk glass pendant lights adds visual contrast to the darker wood ceiling.
What We Love: This shingle-style retreat features designer furnishings mixed with vintage pieces to create an elegant yet causal aesthetic. We are especially loving the beautiful kitchen, with its soaring ceiling and visual contrast of black and white. Expansive windows adds to the bright and airy feeling of the interiors. Outside, spacious outdoor living spaces and the pool terrace adds to the overall appeal of this incredible family retreat.
