This seventies house was transformed by Wow Architects into an industrial style property with modern updates, located in Tamboerskloof, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. The home was designed with lots of windows to bring in natural light and take advantage of the sweeping views of Table Mountain. The homeowners had lived briefly in New Delhi, India, so they brought artifacts with them to infuse the entire home with. The architect built up the ground floor to help capture the mountain views, which resulted in a unique house with double-height spaces and staggered floors. The layout of the house creates a relaxing environment, with the kitchen and living room situated downstairs. The middle ‘half’ floor was designed as a relaxation room and the mezzanine floor encompasses a home office. Above this is the master bedroom retreat and a rooftop terrace. By incorporating plenty of glass into the design, it create a feeling of spaciousness and a connection to the outside environment. On the half floor, there are steps that leads down to the swimming pool and the kitchen area opens up to a terrace that borders a forest. Full of light and intriguing details, we hope you enjoy the photo tour of this amazing home. Let us know what your thoughts, do you like this style of home, why or why not?
