The impressive three-level Sea and Rock villa gets its name from its surrounding landscape, a mountainside site with fantastic seascape views over Camps Bay in Cape Town, South Africa. This expansive retreat features plenty of decking areas, pergolas with potted plants and a large ying and yang-shaped Zen garden. The design compliments the textures of the rocky backdrop while taking full advantage of the exterior living spaces and incorporating saltwater pools and jacuzzis.
โThe ingenious versatility of this six-bedroom villa/ one bedroom apartment is its ability to function as either three separate apartments, each sleeping six on self-contained floors, a main home and guest storey, each with its own pool and jacuzzi, or as one triple-level villa interconnected with and accessible from each level via steep stone steps. The design is wrought in indigenous natural materials of signature ‘balau’ timber decking and in the interior travertine tiling and Caesar-Stone. The villa is environmentally-friendly in minimizing water use by means of an electronically controlled watering system, rain-water tank irrigation recycling and rooftop solar panels. On the first level above the garage and storage rooms, the guest suite/master bedroom opens onto a very large deck and unique feature of a swirling pebble and grass-effect Zen-style garden of cacti plants and quartz boulders.
Fluorescent spot-lights after dark, as with the heated rim-flow pool above, lead you up wooden step tiers to a plunge pool. The night time effect is particularly picturesque as ultra-violet lighting transforms the pools into glowing jewels. Alternatively, you can take a relaxing dip in the nearby Jacuzzi. The first floor apartment sleeps four with a king-size bed and a double-sleeper couch in the lounge while the kitchen has full-specification.”ย
