Cabin retreat in the beautiful Mazama countryside: Delta Shelter

This 1,000 square-foot weekend cabin, is located in the beautiful countryside around Mazama, Washington. The Delta Shelter is basically a steel box on stilts, which can be completely shuttered when the owner is away.

Situated near a river in a floodplain, the 20 x 20 square footprint rises three stories and is topped by the living room/kitchen. Large, 10 x 18 steel shutters can be closed simultaneously using a hand crank. This incredible structure was constructed by Seattle based architecture firm Olson Kundig Architects.

Wow! Incredible home, love the natural beauty and the roll up door is really cool. Location is spectacular, wish this was my vacay house.
