A Shingle Style Getaway Home Gets A Charming Renovation On Cape Cod

Patrick Ahearn Architect was commissioned to renovate and expand this early-1900s shingle-style home that is located in Osterville, a beautiful seaside town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

This property had been in the family for generations and was in need of a refresh in order to meet the needs of a modern family.

The scope of the project included the renovation and expansion of the main residence along with the addition of a new multi-functional carriage house, pool, and cabana.

Inside, a central gallery now organizes the full interior program and connects both the first and second floors to the front and back decks.

Bright spaces are clad in custom millwork and crown, elevating the interior presentation and creating spaces as beautiful as they are functional.

In this golf course-inspired home office, the designer selected a custom shade of green lacquer from Fine Paints of Europe.

Design plans were created for each room to achieve the family’s vision of casual sophistication and a welcoming atmosphere for entertaining and enjoying the summer season.

In the dining room, the fireplace wall is painted in a custom shade (hydrangea blue) from Fine Paints of Europe.
