A Mountain Getaway With Views Of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains

Charles Cunniffe Architects is responsible for the design of this luxurious mountain getaway that is perched on a windswept rocky mountainside above Aspen, Colorado.

The exquisite interiors reflect a unique blend of Art Deco with clean contemporary detailing along with 36 species of wood.

The challenge began when the Florida-based owners commissioned the architects to responsibly deconstruct much of the existing house, and design a home that fused art-deco and contemporary mountain-modern design.

The great room features angled wood ceilings with integrated lighting. Seamless, minimalist, and sophisticated.

Views are framed through a window wall and clerestory windows in the great room and dining.

A Jean DeMerry mosaic mural sits between two automatic doors with views captured above, with a juxtaposed art-deco fireplace.

The butler’s pantry is just as gorgeous as the main kitchen.

This breakfast nook provides refined elegance. Clerestory windows add passive lighting and ventilation and the view is stunning.
