Michigan house with an organic modern mountain inspired design

42 North – Architecture + Design has designed this stunning modern mountain house that is positioned on the site of an old stone quarry in Ada, Michigan.

Perched at the edge of a hillside, this dwelling boasts river valley views that stretch over 5 miles. This region is the perfect escape to view magnificent blue skies and breathe in the fresh air.

The exterior facade of this home is incredible, from the entryway to the back patio. The steel-frame construction of this home is incredible, with the interior and exterior composed of exposed steel framing.

Despite the metal roof having varying roof lines, it has the same pitch throughout. Large overhangs with exposed, protruding steel beams add to the attractive aesthetic of the exterior of this mountain-inspired abode.

A small footbridge leads from the driveway to the front porch, ensuring that natural light permeates through to the home’s exposed below-grade level.

This oversized fireplace opens into three living spaces, serving the outdoor patio, living room, and owner’s bedroom suite simultaneously.

Soaring pine barnwood ceilings create a majestic feeling throughout this stunning modern mountain-inspired home.

Cypress planks and expansive walls of glazing help to soften the exterior while providing a copious amount of natural light.
