See this stunning historic Mediterranean Revival home in Los Angeles

This gorgeous Mediterranean Revival home has undergone a complete overhaul by Tim Barber Architects, located in Los Angeles, California.

After acquiring this historic 1921 Mediterranean Revival residence, the homeowners discovered the structure was already under the Mills Act (Historical Property Contract).

This initiative bestows tax advantages upon the owner for the purpose of restoring and preserving their historically significant abode, necessitating City authorization for any modifications to uphold the home’s integrity.

The architects preserved numerous original elements of the residence, such as steel casement windows, moldings, paneled doors, intricate ironwork, and paneling, among others.

The service quarters were reconfigured to create a new gym and a spacious walk-in pantry.

The residence features numerous delicate details that collectively transform it into a delightfully artistic family haven for now and future generations, enriched by its exceptional history.

Within the library, the original mahogany paneling accommodated a sizeable widescreen television and other equipment, cleverly concealed within existing niches that served as discreet speaker placements.

After discovering the original architectural plans, the architects restored various intricate elements, such as the coffered ceiling in the dining room.
