A Beautiful Farmhouse Retreat Inspired By Nature In Ojai, California

Surrounding by a serene bucolic landscape, this  5,500-square-foot home boasts four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a 700-square-foot guest house with a Murphy bed and full bathroom.

The designer employed an earthy color palette inspired by old barn houses. This allows the simple structure to not compete with the natural beauty of the landscape.

This farmhouse retreat in Ojai is enchanting. It looks simple on the outside, but inside, it’s bright and airy with beautiful details throughout.

In the kitchen, the countertops and backsplash are honed Carrara marble, while the island is honed soapstone. The flooring is a concrete slab.

The custom cabinetry is by ToDo Something, painted in Templeton Gray HC-161 | Benjamin Moore. The matte black faucets are by Watermark.

The homeowners love to dine with family and friends outdoors. Here, a pair of beer garden tables have been placed together to form a large table. This outdoor oasis is sheltered by awnings of bamboo.

Next to the dining room table is an integrated hutch, painted in Knoxville Gray HC-160 –  Benjamin Moore.

Furnishings throughout the home are an eclectic mix, where the designer describes her style as “Scandinavian modern with a touch of bohemian Ojai”.
