This Contemporary House Is A Sanctuary In The Rocky Mountains Of Colorado

The homeowner had purchased this house as their future retirement sanctuary. Originally, the dwelling was constructed as a spec home yet was somewhat plain on the interior.

This contemporary mountain house in Colorado provides a relaxed living environment for a retired couple. The dark exterior facade helps to meld this home into its forested backdrop.

We are especially loving the dramatic great room with its towering ceilings, stone-clad fireplace, and nature-inspired views through expansive walls of glazing.

The entry of this home features a round table sourced from Four Hands. Encircling the table are ottomans from the Jamie Young Company. Suspended above the table are pendant lights from Troy Lighting.

Weiland lift and slide doors help to blur the boundaries between indoors and out. The living room is outfitted with armchairs sourced from Lee Industries.

Connected to the main living area is this covered porch, featuring a comfortable sofa and lounge chairs from Restoration Hardware.

A restaurant-style bar area was created for entertaining. The backsplash tile was sourced from Speartek Tile and Stone.

In this guest bedroom, the bed is by Palecek and the luxury designer bedding is from Eastern Accents. On the wall above the bed are a collection of custom-framed, vintage hotel logos.
