A Southern California House With Mediterranean-inspired Style

Norman Design Group has collaborated with top-notch artisans to construct this Mediterranean-style house, from the ground up, nestled in Palos Verdes Estates, a city within Los Angeles County, California.

As an avid surfer and outdoorsman, the homeowner wanted an interior to accommodate his active lifestyle and entertainment goals.

Upon entering through a striking steel front door, an exquisite foyer and staircase unfold, adorned with vintage European pavers and plastered walls.

The talented team of designers resourced all the materials and architectural details of the dwelling’s interior, seeing the project through the decoration phase.

This Mediterranean style house features beautiful time-worn materials, bespoke handcrafted light fixtures, artisan finishes, retractable doors, and an expansive open floor plan that converges into a dynamic space ideal for effortless entertaining.

We are especially loving the aesthetics of the historic beams sourced from Kentucky tobacco barns, the sculptural sandstone tub in the owner’s bathroom, and the awe-inspiring views of the Pacific Ocean.

A trio of pendant lights over the island are the Downtown Mesh Cord Pendant Lights from Hammerton Studio. The counter stools are the “Laced Rawhide Barstools” from Baker Furniture.

The showpiece of this bathroom is the sculptural Stone Forest Papillion Sandstone bathtub. This elegant free-standing piece is cut and formed from solid blocks of stone that are millions of years old.
