A serene getaway gets beautifully transformed in Vermont’s Green Mountains

Cushman Design Group transformed this home into a serene and harmonious family getaway, perfectly blending beauty and functionality in Vermont’s Green Mountains. The renovation enhanced the existing timber frame design, with energy-efficient, larger windows installed on the southern gable. These windows flood the family room with natural light while framing breathtaking views of the Worcester Range.

The kitchen was completely redesigned to improve flow and functionality, with the craftsmanship of local woodworkers bringing unique, natural wood elements into the spaceโ€”custom dining and coffee tables, cabinetry, and more. An addition created a seamless connection between the main home and the living space above the garage, adding a cozy private seating area and TV room for the upper-level bedrooms.

All bedrooms were converted into luxurious ensuites, and the mudroom/powder room entry was reimagined. The lower level saw significant upgrades, including a guest suite, family room, exercise room, and a steamer-shower bathroom. The exterior was revitalized with new colors, siding, a refreshed roof, and inviting porches.

Landscaping renovations are being completed in three phases, creating a “Sherwood Forest” atmosphere around the homeโ€™s developed areas. This includes a stunning deck and a stainless-steel spa set amidst a striking boulder-scape, enhancing the propertyโ€™s natural beauty.

What We Love: This beautiful getaway home in the Green Mountains underwent a comprehensive renovation to create a peaceful getaway in the mountains. We love the heavy use of wood used throughout this home to promote inviting warmth. The living room is spectacular with its floor-to-ceiling stone-clad fireplace and expansive windows capturing breathtaking views of the mountainscape. The addition above the garage further enhances this incredible home, offering both private retreats and communal spaces for the entire family to enjoy.
