A Midcentury House Perched On A Hillside In British Columbia

W O V E N Architecture and Design have created this amazing midcentury modern house set on a hillside with views of St Mary Lake in British Columbia, Canada.

This modern cabin provides a getaway for a couple that resides in Vancouver who desired a simple and modern structure to escape from their chaotic city life.

This 1,604 square-foot dwelling takes the form of an elongated rectangular structure, with a gently sloping metal shed roof and exterior wood deck spanning a small ravine.

The dwelling is perched on the hillside, providing sweeping views of Salt Spring island and the Salish Sea beyond.

A glass entry vestibule with a skylight above bisects the rectangular volume to create a dramatic entrance into the dwelling.

The living and dining area features a contemporary wood fireplace with large sliding glass doors that leads out to the exterior wood deck.

A fully covered outdoor space provides an area to sit outside with year-round protection from the elements. 

This fabulous dwelling has two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
