Coastal Maine House With Beautifully Inviting Living Spaces

This modern coastal-style house was beautifully designed by Kevin Browne Architecture, located in the seacoast town of Harpswell, Maine.

As the architects began the design process, it was determined that they needed to remove the existing structure and construct a new home that would better capture the views and was built to the performance standards that are expected with modern living.

The entry into the home exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a deep covered porch and gently sloping rooflines that envelope the whole main level to help nestle the abode into its natural setting.

A departure from the architectural motif seen in neighboring constructions, this dwelling embraced a slightly more modern window design, characterized by generously proportioned windows.

The main level is composed of an open kitchen, living, and dining with a focus on the views. There are also two guest suites, a butler’s pantry, and a family room.

The second level is predominantly the owner’s bedroom suite which includes a comfortable bedroom, bath, and sitting area.

All of these areas connect to an outdoor stone patio with an outdoor fireplace.

The architects created a large stone fireplace as an anchor to one corner of the home, where the windows abut the stone of the fireplace on each side.
