A Scandinavian inspired A-frame cabin in the woods of South Carolina

This A-Frame cabin was designed to feel like a cozy treehouse by design-build firm Owners Choice Construction, nestled on a wooded multi-acre property just outside of downtown Greenville, South Carolina.

This is the personal family getaway cabin of the builder and is also used as a short-term rental property. This fabulous home encompasses just 920 square feet of living space with one bedroom and one-and-a-half bathrooms.

Additional highlights include an outdoor shower that is elevated 30 feet off the ground, a crow’s nest roof deck, and a second-story cargo net lounge area installed above the family room.

The great room opens out to a spacious uncovered deck of 12 by 20 feet. The railings were constructed using hog wire, which helped to keep the builder within budget while maintaining the forested views.

The builder left out a range in this space so that it could be classified as a kitchenette rather than a kitchen. This means the cabin can be classified as an accessory dwelling.

This small powder room is located underneath the staircase, features a 24-inch vanity that the builder sourced online to save money.

Tucked into an alcove at the top of the staircase are these cozy built-in bunk beds. This space offers a pop of color and tongue-and-groove paneling. A reading light is added over each bed for added functionality.

To the right of the alcove is a staircase that takes you to the roof deck. Here, you can also see the cargo net that was installed above the great room.
