A beach house in Rhode Island built to withstand storms

Caldwell & Johnson Custom Builders has created this beautiful beach house that is nestled along the water in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

The home straddles Green Hill and Teal Ponds with stunning views from every room. This is the first home in New England to be certified under the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety’s Fortified Home Program.

This means the construction of this home goes beyond typical building codes to provide superior performance during severe weather. Built on concrete pillars, this impressive home is spread out over three levels.

The coffee table in the living room is a fun vintage piece that the homeowner repainted. The windows are high-impact glass from Andersen Windows and Doors and frame breathtaking water views.

This chef’s kitchen features Pental Quartz in Lattice countertops for prep (perimeter) and Calacatta Bluette Marble on the oversized island that includes a beverage area.

In this powder room, the Countertop is a very dark piece of Sea Pearl Quartzite and the backsplash tile is Lunada Bay Mizumi Martini Blend Ice Crystal.

In this serene bathroom, the wall paint color is Benjamin Moore HC-171 Wickham Gray. A cozy window seat provides a comfortable respite to enjoy the waterfront views.

This tranquil bedroom features large windows framing ocean views. The walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Palladian Blue HC-144.
