A Modern Mountain Retreat With Breathtaking Views Of Coeur D’alene Lake

This modern mountain home was beautifully designed by Mittmann Architect in collaboration with Edward Smith Construction, perched above Coeur d’Alene Lake, Idaho.

The homeowner’s principal residence is in Houston, Texas, so their goal for their vacation home was to bring a dose of Texas Hill Country style to Lake Coeur d’Alene’s SunUp Bay.

Standout features are everywhere you look, from the tile wall behind the kitchen range to the shiplap paneling throughout; the reclaimed timbers from Louisiana to the use of stone indoors and out.

The living room features a wood accent wall, rustic wood beams, and rich wood floors that infuse warmth into this space. The large sofa was sourced from Restoration Hardware.

The large metal doors and windows throughout this home are by Glo Windows & Doors.

In this bright and airy kitchen, a white marble waterfall island, concrete backsplash, and white cabinetry provide clean lines and a crisp aesthetic. The pendant lights over the island are from Visual Comfort.

This comfortable bedroom provides a welcoming respite at the end of a long day. Sliding glass doors by Glo Windows & Doors help blur the lines between indoors and out while providing sweeping views over the lake.

In the main bathroom, a freestanding tub sourced from Ferguson offers a relaxing spot to soak. A welcoming view of nature is provided through a large window on the other side of the bathroom.
