Jay Jeffers Studio is responsible for the interior design of this modern dream home in the town of Portola Valley, located on the San Francisco Peninsula on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains, California. The homeowners contracted the designer to help with the interiors of their dream pad, which was in the final phases of construction.

The overall aesthetic was to be modern with clean lines, yet as a family with one young child, it also needed to play double-duty: grown-up cocktail parties, four-year-old birthday parties, movie night on the sofa, and the like. The furnishings are a mixture of both off-the-rack and one-of-a-kind artisan pieces, such as the showstopper coffee table in the living room by Stefan Bishop.

What We Love: This Portola Valley dream home offers the quintessential California lifestyle—indoor-outdoor living. With its temperate climate, these homeowners can enjoy alfresco dining and lounging poolside. A spacious great room features walls of glass that disappear to extend this space to the expansive outdoor deck. Spacious living areas have been designed to not only be family-friendly but to cater to entertaining in style.
