This rustic rural farmhouse was designed by Locati Architects in collaboration with builders Schlauch Bottcher Construction, located in the Stock Farm community of Hamilton, Montana. The rural setting creates an extremely picturesque and peaceful environment for this rustic home with the rugged Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. This was an ideal condition for the homeowner’s desire to construct a residence that would help to maximize indoor/outdoor living, working and entertaining.
The farmhouse was designed into three sections in order to separate the private living spaces from the more public ones. Centrally located, the main living spaces focus on indoor-outdoor living. Expansive windows frame the views of the surrounding landscape. The private zones, such as the bedrooms and owner’s art studio are linked to the main areas by hallways of abundant glass, once again capitalizing on the spectacular views.
A central element to this rural property is the covered terrace. This outdoor living area is the ultimate gathering spot for entertaining guests. The space includes a built-in barbecue, al fresco dining and a cozy fire pit. When the weather is not conducive for outdoor parties, the great room serves as another desirable location for entertaining. This bright and airy room boasts a vaulted ceiling, expansive walls of glass and an exquisite stone fireplace. This space is perfect for comfortable, relaxed living.
What We Love: This rustic rural farmhouse offers warm and welcoming interiors that are surrounded by captivating outdoor spaces. Windows throughout this home were designed to maximize the views of this rugged landscape, creating a peaceful environment for living.
